Driver Frontal Deployment Loop Short to Battery

The driver frontal airbag deployment loop is shorted to battery voltage. This is potentially dangerous as it could cause unintended deployment; the SRS module isolates the circuit and sets the warning lamp.

Affected components

  • Driver airbag module
  • Srs wiring
  • Clock spring

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Wiring shorted to powered conductor
  • Medium likelihood: Damaged connector bridging power
  • Low likelihood: SRS module internal fault

Possible symptoms

  • Warning light or symbol related to the affected system
  • Comfort or safety function impaired
