Lateral Acceleration Sensor Circuit
The stability control module has detected an implausible signal from the lateral acceleration sensor. ESP uses lateral g-force together with yaw rate and steering angle to detect skid conditions — without it, ESP is disabled.
Affected components
- Lateral acceleration sensor
- Esp control module
- Sensor cluster
Common causes
- High likelihood: Lateral acceleration sensor failed
- Medium likelihood: Sensor cluster loose or mounted incorrectly
- Low likelihood: Wiring or connector fault
Possible symptoms
- ABS warning light on
- ESC/stability control deactivated
- Possible reduced brake assist
- Speedometer may behave erratically
