Brake Booster Solenoid Circuit High
Brake booster solenoid control voltage above expected range. Boost control tracks commanded vs. actual manifold pressure; persistent deviation means wastegate, vanes, hose or actuator are not delivering the requested pressure.
Affected components
- Brake booster solenoid
Common causes
- High likelihood: Wiring shorted to battery
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Low likelihood: Supply wire pinched against B+ source
Possible symptoms
- ABS warning light on
- ESC/stability control deactivated
- Possible reduced brake assist
- Speedometer may behave erratically
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
