B Camshaft Profile Actuator A Control Circuit Low Bank 2
Low control voltage at the exhaust cam profile actuator (profile A, bank 2). Same as P002B on bank 2. The cam phaser actuator adjusts intake/exhaust timing under load — a stuck or slow phaser kills mid-rpm torque and can throw correlation codes between cam and crank.
Affected components
- Cam profile actuator exhaust
- Actuator wiring
Common causes
- High likelihood: Wiring shorted to ground
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Low likelihood: Harness chafing through insulation
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Power loss especially in mid-rpm range
- Possible rough idle or stalling
- Increased fuel consumption
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
