Low Pressure Fuel System Pressure - Too Low
The low-pressure (lift pump) fuel pressure is below the expected value. Insufficient supply to the high-pressure pump leads to power loss and possible HP pump cavitation.
Affected components
- Lift pump
- Fuel filter
- Low pressure sensor
Common causes
- High likelihood: Fuel filter clogged
- High likelihood: Lift pump weak or failing
- Medium likelihood: Leak or air ingress in low-pressure line
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
- A drive cycle may be required after repair
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
