Cruise Control Vacuum Control Circuit Open

The vacuum-control solenoid of a vacuum-driven cruise servo (older systems) has an open control circuit - the servo cannot pull the throttle.

Affected components

  • Cruise vacuum solenoid

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Open in solenoid or harness
  • Low likelihood: Pin pushed back out of connector body
  • Low likelihood: Cracked solder joint inside the module or sensor

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
