Fuel Injector Control Module Performance
Modern direct-injection systems use a dedicated injector driver module that generates the high-voltage charge pulses needed to open piezo or solenoid injectors. The module reports an internal performance fault.
Affected components
- Fuel injector control module
Common causes
- High likelihood: Driver module internal fault
- Low likelihood: Module software outdated, reflash may resolve
- Low likelihood: Supply voltage outside specification
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Misfire or rough idle on the affected cylinder
- Increased fuel consumption
- Possible fuel smell or smoke from exhaust
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
