3-4 Shift Malfunction
The TCM detects a fault during the 3-to-4 upshift, where gear ratio after the shift does not match fourth gear expected value.

- Shift solenoid
- Transmission clutch pack

Common causes
- High likelihood: Shift solenoid faulty
- Medium likelihood: 3-4 clutch slipping
Possible symptoms
- Check engine or transmission warning light on
- Harsh, delayed, or missing shifts
- Possible limp mode (locked in one gear)
- Slipping or shuddering during gear changes
