Hybrid/EV Battery System Voltage Too Low for Voltage Step Up Conversion
The HV battery system voltage is too low to enable voltage step-up (boost) conversion. DC/DC converter cannot operate.
Affected components
- Hv battery
- Dcdc step up converter
Common causes
- High likelihood: HV battery depleted
- Medium likelihood: Battery cells aged
- Low likelihood: Pack cell imbalance approaching service threshold
Possible symptoms
- EV/hybrid system warning light on
- Reduced power output or limp mode
- Charging may fail or be slowed
- Reduced electric range
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
