Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Current Sensor A/B Correlation

The signals of HV battery pack current sensors A and B do not correlate within the calibrated tolerance. Sensor drift or harness offset.

Affected components

  • Hv battery pack current sensor a
  • Hv battery pack current sensor b
  • Bms

Common causes

  • High likelihood: One sensor drifted
  • Medium likelihood: Ground offset between sensors
  • Low likelihood: Pack cell imbalance approaching service threshold

Possible symptoms

  • EV/hybrid system warning light on
  • Reduced power output or limp mode
  • Charging may fail or be slowed
  • Reduced electric range

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
