Drive Motor B Phase U-V-W Circuit Low

The drive motor B phase U-V-W output reports a circuit low condition. The drive motor's position, current and temperature are watched continuously; a fault here downgrades the inverter to a safe operating point or triggers torque reduction.

Affected components

  • Drive motor b phase uvw
  • Drive motor b inverter

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Phase wire shorted to ground
  • Medium likelihood: Low-side switch open in inverter
  • Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance

Possible symptoms

  • EV/hybrid system warning light on
  • Reduced motor power or torque
  • Possible limp mode or vehicle shutdown

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
