Battery Charger Hybrid/EV Battery Output Current Sensor Circuit Intermittent/Erratic

The ECM detects a intermittent/erratic fault on the battery charger hybrid/ev battery output current sensor circuit. Reading cannot be used reliably for control.

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Sensor connector not seated
  • Medium likelihood: Noisy ground reference
  • Low likelihood: Connector with intermittent contact under vibration

Possible symptoms

  • EV/hybrid system warning light on
  • Reduced power output or limp mode
  • Charging may fail or be slowed
  • Reduced electric range

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
