Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Intermittent (Bank 1)
IMT position sensor at bank 1 signal is unstable — connector or harness issue. The intake manifold runner control (IMRC) flaps tune intake geometry for filling efficiency across the rpm range; stuck flaps cost part-load torque and can set lean codes.
Affected components
- Imt position sensor
Common causes
- High likelihood: Intermittent connector
- Low likelihood: Connector with intermittent contact under vibration
- Low likelihood: Harness routed against vibrating component
