Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low (Bank 2)
IMT position sensor at bank 2 reads below lower plausibility — short to ground. The intake manifold runner control (IMRC) flaps tune intake geometry for filling efficiency across the rpm range; stuck flaps cost part-load torque and can set lean codes.
Affected components
- Imt position sensor
Common causes
- High likelihood: Short to ground
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Low likelihood: Harness chafing through insulation
