Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Range/Performance (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
The bank 1 sensor 2 EGT reading deviates from the expected ratio against the upstream EGT sensor or modeled exhaust temperature. Confuses DPF regeneration control and may force a forced regen.
Affected components
- Egt sensor
Common causes
- High likelihood: Sensor aged or drifting
- Medium likelihood: DPF heavily loaded — non-physical temperature gradient
- Low likelihood: Sensor element aged beyond calibration window
