Clutch B Temperature Too High

The transmission control unit measures clutch B temperature above the safe operating threshold. Repeated slip events or excessive load have heated the clutch pack.

Affected components

  • Clutch b
  • Transmission fluid
  • Tcm

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Excessive clutch slip during launches
  • Medium likelihood: Degraded transmission fluid lowers heat capacity

Possible symptoms

  • Check engine or transmission warning light on
  • Harsh, delayed, or missing shifts
  • Possible limp mode (locked in one gear)
  • Slipping or shuddering during gear changes

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
