Shift Motor Phase U-V-W Performance

The phase currents of the shift motor do not match the commanded commutation pattern within tolerance. Sensor or driver synchronisation off.

  • Shift motor
  • Shift motor position sensor
  • Tcm

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Rotor position sensor offset
  • Medium likelihood: Phase current imbalance

Possible symptoms

  • Check engine or transmission warning light on
  • Harsh, delayed, or missing shifts
  • Possible limp mode (locked in one gear)
  • Slipping or shuddering during gear changes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
