Hybrid/EV Battery Coolant Level Sensor Circuit High

The hybrid control module detects a circuit high fault on the high-voltage battery coolant level sensor. Coolant loss in the battery loop cannot be detected reliably.

Affected components

  • Hybrid battery coolant level sensor
  • Wiring harness
  • Bms

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Signal wire shorted to B+
  • Medium likelihood: Open level sensor
  • Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance

Possible symptoms

  • EV/hybrid system warning light on
  • Reduced power output or limp mode
  • Charging may fail or be slowed
  • Reduced electric range

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
