Drive Motor A Clutch Stuck Engaged

The drive motor A clutch cannot leave the engaged state when release is commanded. The drive motor's position, current and temperature are watched continuously; a fault here downgrades the inverter to a safe operating point or triggers torque reduction.

Affected components

  • Drive motor a clutch
  • Drive motor a clutch actuator

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Clutch actuator stuck
  • Medium likelihood: Hydraulic pressure off

Possible symptoms

  • Check engine or transmission warning light on
  • Harsh, delayed, or missing shifts
  • Possible limp mode (locked in one gear)
  • Slipping or shuddering during gear changes

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
