A Camshaft Position Actuator Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Bank 2

Cam actuator A temperature sensor on bank 2 signal voltage below expected range. The camshaft position sensor identifies which cylinder is on the compression stroke — without it the ECM cannot run sequential injection or coil-on-plug ignition correctly.

Affected components

  • Cam actuator a temp sensor b2
  • Sensor wiring

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Signal wire shorted to ground
  • Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
  • Low likelihood: Harness chafing through insulation

Possible symptoms

  • Check engine light on
  • Power loss especially in mid-rpm range
  • Possible rough idle or stalling
  • Increased fuel consumption
