A controller flags that the data received over the bus is implausible without identifying a specific source. Used as a generic placeholder when the more specific U04xx codes do not apply.

Common causes
- High likelihood: Marginal signal on bus
- Low likelihood: Gateway module routing CAN messages incorrectly
- Low likelihood: CAN terminating resistor (120 Ω) drifted out of spec
