Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control Circuit Open Bank 1
The control line of the IMT valve on bank 1 is open - the ECU cannot drive the valve. The intake manifold runner control (IMRC) flaps tune intake geometry for filling efficiency across the rpm range; stuck flaps cost part-load torque and can set lean codes.
Affected components
- Intake manifold tuning valve b1
Common causes
- High likelihood: Open in valve or wiring
- Low likelihood: Pin pushed back out of connector body
- Low likelihood: Cracked solder joint inside the module or sensor
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Possible limp mode or no-start
- Multiple follow-up faults across modules
- Reset/relearn may be needed after repair
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
