Planetary Gear Set Failure
The TCM detects mechanical failure of a planetary gear set inside the transmission. Sun, ring, or planet gears may be damaged.

- High likelihood: Planetary gear teeth damaged
- Medium likelihood: Planetary bearing failure
Possible symptoms
- Check engine or transmission warning light on
- Harsh, delayed, or missing shifts
- Possible limp mode (locked in one gear)
- Slipping or shuddering during gear changes
