Drive Motor A Position Sensor Circuit C Range/Performance

The position sensor channel C of drive motor A reports a range/performance fault. The drive motor's position, current and temperature are watched continuously; a fault here downgrades the inverter to a safe operating point or triggers torque reduction.

Affected components

  • Drive motor a position sensor c
  • Wiring harness
  • Hybrid control module

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Sensor mechanically offset
  • Medium likelihood: Electrical noise on signal line
  • Low likelihood: Sensor element aged beyond calibration window

Possible symptoms

  • EV/hybrid system warning light on
  • Reduced motor power or torque
  • Possible limp mode or vehicle shutdown

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
