DPF Regeneration Duration
The DPF regeneration cycle takes longer than the calibrated maximum. The ECU sets this code when the soot load is not being burned off within the expected window — common after many short trips or with degraded post-injection.
Affected components
- Diesel particulate filter
- Dpf temperature sensor
- Fuel injectors
Common causes
- High likelihood: Heavy soot load, short trips
- Medium likelihood: Post-injection insufficient
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light or DPF warning light on
- Power loss / limp mode
- Increased fuel consumption
- Failed forced regeneration attempts
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
- A drive cycle may be required after repair
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
