The position sensor or switch of transmission range control channel A reports a circuit/open condition. The TCM cannot verify the actuator position reliably.

- High likelihood: Open in sensor signal wire
- Medium likelihood: Position switch failed open
- Low likelihood: Pin pushed back out of connector body
Possible symptoms
- Check engine or transmission warning light on
- Harsh, delayed, or missing shifts
- Possible limp mode (locked in one gear)
- Slipping or shuddering during gear changes
