Invalid Data Received From Differential Control Module — Rear

A receiving module detected implausible data from the rear differential control module (electronic LSD or torque vectoring). Clutch/torque command vs. actual values fail plausibility checks and are rejected.

Affected components

  • Rear differential module

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Module internal fault or sensor input drift
  • Medium likelihood: Software version mismatch after replacement
  • Low likelihood: Gateway module routing CAN messages incorrectly

Possible symptoms

  • Multiple warning lights may illuminate
  • Affected modules may go into limp mode or shut down
  • Specific functions inoperative depending on module
  • Diagnostic tools may show communication faults

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • A drive cycle may be required after repair
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
