Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Low Input
The CKP signal voltage is below the lower threshold. Usually a sensor whose internal coil has degraded, or a wiring short to ground.
Affected components
- Crankshaft position sensor
- Crankshaft position sensor wiring
Common causes
- High likelihood: Sensor failed (output too low)
- Medium likelihood: Signal shorted to ground
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
