Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High
The ignition switch Run-position input reads stuck high — short to battery voltage or open switch return. The ECM cannot detect when the operator turns the switch back to off/accessory, so module sleep and accessory power timeouts do not work correctly.
Affected components
- Ignition switch
- Wiring harness
Common causes
- High likelihood: Run input wire shorted to battery voltage
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Low likelihood: Supply wire pinched against B+ source
Diagnostic notes
