Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A/G Voltage Correlation

The voltage signals of throttle/pedal position channels A and G do not correlate within the calibrated tolerance. One sensor element drifted or harness shows offset between channels.

Affected components

  • Tps channel a
  • Tps channel g
  • Ecm

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Sensor channel A or G drifted
  • Medium likelihood: Harness offset between channels

Possible symptoms

  • Check engine light on
  • Reduced throttle response, possible limp mode
  • Hesitation or surging
  • Idle too high or too low

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • This code can affect emissions
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
