"A" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)

An electrical fault in the bank 1 intake camshaft position actuator solenoid (variable valve timing). The ECU monitors current and feedback on the oil control valve and sets this code when the circuit is open, shorted, or out of range.

  • Oil control valve
  • Actuator wiring

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Oil control valve electrically failed
  • Medium likelihood: Wiring or connector fault to actuator

Possible symptoms

  • Check engine light on
