Turbocharger/Supercharger Inlet Pressure Sensor A Circuit High
Turbo inlet pressure sensor A signal voltage above expected range. Boost control tracks commanded vs. actual manifold pressure; persistent deviation means wastegate, vanes, hose or actuator are not delivering the requested pressure.
Affected components
- Turbo inlet pressure sensor a
- Sensor wiring
Common causes
- High likelihood: Signal wire open
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Low likelihood: Supply wire pinched against B+ source
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Significant power loss / limp mode
- Possible blue or black smoke from exhaust
- Whistling or hissing sound from intake
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
