Hybrid/EV Battery D Voltage High

The voltage of HV battery D exceeds the expected window. Charging overvoltage or sense fault. Cell-group voltage monitoring is the foundation of HV battery safety — drift here triggers contactor opening, charge inhibit, and reduced power to protect the pack.

Affected components

  • Hv battery d
  • Bms

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Charging system overvoltage
  • Medium likelihood: Sense circuit drifted high
  • Low likelihood: Pack cell imbalance approaching service threshold

Possible symptoms

  • EV/hybrid system warning light on
  • Reduced power output or limp mode
  • Charging may fail or be slowed
  • Reduced electric range

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
  • Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
