Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 Control Circuit
Electrical fault on the control line to the high-pressure fuel pressure regulator solenoid. Without a working drive signal the rail cannot maintain pressure and the engine may not start or runs in limp-home.
Affected components
- Fuel pressure regulator
- Fuel pressure regulator wiring
Common causes
- High likelihood: Regulator solenoid open or shorted
- Medium likelihood: Wiring break to regulator
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Hard start, no start, or stalling under load
- Power loss especially at high load or rpm
- Possible long cranking time
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
- A drive cycle may be required after repair
