Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 Control Circuit Low
Drive voltage to the second fuel pressure regulator solenoid is below the lower limit. On common-rail diesels and direct-injection petrol engines this affects high-pressure fuel control directly.
Affected components
- Fuel pressure regulator 2
- Fuel pressure regulator wiring
Common causes
- High likelihood: Drive line shorted to ground
- Medium likelihood: Solenoid coil internally shorted
- Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
Possible symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Hard start, no start, or stalling under load
- Power loss especially at high load or rpm
- Possible long cranking time
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- This code can affect emissions
- A drive cycle may be required after repair
