Control Module Wake-up Circuit Low

The wake-up input on the control module reads stuck low — usually a short to ground or a permanently asserted wake signal. The module either keeps waking up unnecessarily and drains the battery, or it cannot distinguish a real wake event from the stuck low level.

Affected components

  • Wake up circuit
  • Control module

Common causes

  • High likelihood: Wake-up wire shorted to ground
  • Medium likelihood: Door, hood or terminal switch stuck closed
  • Low likelihood: Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance

Diagnostic notes

  • The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
