Engine Oil Level Sensor Circuit
General electrical fault on the engine oil level sensor circuit. The ECM cannot read a plausible level signal (analog level, ultrasonic or capacitive sender). Without a valid level reading the ECM disables oil-low warnings and dynamic service-interval calculation.
Affected components
- Oil level sensor
- Sensor wiring
Common causes
- High likelihood: Open or shorted wiring to the sensor
- Medium likelihood: Corroded connector at the oil pan
