Hybrid/EV Battery Coolant Level Sensor Range/Performance
The hybrid control module detects a range/performance fault on the high-voltage battery coolant level sensor. Coolant loss in the battery loop cannot be detected reliably.
Affected components
- Hybrid battery coolant level sensor
- Wiring harness
- Bms
Common causes
- High likelihood: Float stuck on guide rod
- Medium likelihood: Sensor characteristic drifted
- Low likelihood: Sensor element aged beyond calibration window
Possible symptoms
- EV/hybrid system warning light on
- Reduced power output or limp mode
- Charging may fail or be slowed
- Reduced electric range
Diagnostic notes
- The malfunction indicator lamp may illuminate
- Reduced-power or limp mode may occur
